		<description><![CDATA[Territory Sales Mgr - Flooring Surfaces (AZ, CA & NV)-1000093<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>Purpose of the Job<br/><br/>Sales of specialty flooring surfaces materials (adhesives, underlayments and leveling compounds for flexible flooring - carpet, tile, ceramic, stone and hardwood) through contractor / applicator and distributor sales channels.  This is hands-on, demonstration-type sale, requiring actual experience in handling the product.<br/><br/><b>Principal Responsibilities&#58;</b><br/><br/>Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) have broad backgrounds in selling, business management and profitable territory management.  They have learned how to penetrate markets, increase sales and generate maximum returns for themselves and the company.  They understand consultative selling, problem solving and have experienced firsthand the various aspects of bringing a product to market, from the planning and specification phase, to the distribution phase and the actual product application process.  When this actual experience is combined with superior, versatile and assertive communication skills, it facilitates success by selling the value proposition at pricing that reflects appropriate margin contribution, welcomes competition as an opportunity to demonstrate personal and organizational capability and permits the TSM to enjoy superior opportunities for incentive compensation based on performance.  The successful TSM derives self-satisfaction from achieving weekly, monthly and annual objectives and growing with the company.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>A minimum of five years of experience in the flooring and ceramic tile istallation systems industry, with at least two years of experience as an installer of flooring surface materials preferred.  Three years of experience working with installers and distributors preferred.<br/><br/>Minimum high school graduation with commensurate industry-related work experience.  Bachelor of Arts/Science in sales, marketing, business management or liberal arts preferred.<br/><br/>Demonstrates a robust understanding (theory and practice) of how flooring surface products are sold into the industry through the various channels of sale.  Channel of sales include but are not limited to Distributors, Contractors, Applicators and Building Owners.  Business is conducted at customer facilities and offices and project sites.  Driving long distances and overnight travel (up to 80 %) required.
