Equipment Skills:

In their assignment as a Pilot Plant Technician, they will report to the Sr. Kilo Lab Team Leader, will work with other Chemists and Engineers, and carry out multi-kilogram to multi-hundred kilogram preparative studies using a variety of techniques relevant to liquid (including: batching, blending, bead milling), dry (including: batching, blending, coarse and fine milling, extrusion and drying) and specialty formulations (including micro-encapsulation) as well as characterizing the development products using a broad range of physical analytical methods (including: rheometry, particle size analysis, emulsion and suspension stability). Pilot Plant work will involve the safe handling of chemicals with known toxicity as well as those that have yet to be fully characterized.

Reporting to the Sr. Kilo Lab Team Leader, it is expected that a Pilot Plant Technician devises and/or assembles new equipment and processes or modifies existing kilo lab equipment, processes and procedures. The incumbent will maintain supplies necessary for safety and lab/process area operations, oversee waste disposal operations in compliance with applicable regulations and policies, organize and perform complex analyses, experiments, and tests on assigned problems. Commensurate with experience, the pilot plant technician may either devise or follow the instructions of the Project Scientist to assemble new or modify existing pilot-scale apparatus or according to the needs of assigned problems; prepare detailed data summaries and report on the observations and determinations made.

The individual will join an expanding team of molecular biologists in the Molecular Analysis Technology Center's RNA group in support of gene discovery activities of various trait projects in BPS. The primary responsibility of the individual is to work closely with scientists in the Protein and DNA analytical groups to explore, develop, and implement new application ideas in RNA/DNA/protein analyses of genetic/-omics profiles in model system and target crops of importance to BPS using established (e.g. Affymetrix GeneChip) and emerging technologies (e.g. methylation mapping, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq etc). The individual will be a member of a team performing expression analysis using commercial profiling technology as well as conventional RNA analysis tools, e.g. RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, Northern analysis. BASF Plant Science (BPS) is seeking to appoint an innovative and experienced Regulatory Affairs Manager based in Research Triangle Park, NC, U.S.A. The Manager will be responsible for Regulatory Affairs leadership of the BPS biotechnology herbicide tolerant (HT) crop products, and will report to the Director, Global Regulatory based in the USA. He/she will provide a strategic overview for developing and implementing regulatory project plans for BPS biotechnology HT crop products globally, to achieve timely country regulatory approvals consistent with the overall objectives of BPS's HT crop biotechnology business.

The Manager will have direct responsibilities for regulatory approvals of BPS's HT crop products in the U.S.A., and will have a leadership role in implementing the overall global regulatory project plan for BPS HT crop products by coordinating regulatory work packages with BASF Regulatory Affairs Managers in other countries for production and/or HT crop imports. Specific responsibilities include: developing and implementing regulatory project plans for BPS's biotechnology HT crop products, that include details of safety assessment studies, timelines and resource requirements, and the Manager will also be responsible for managing the regulatory budget of the BPS HT crop projects.

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will ensure that the global regulatory project plans for the BPS HT crop products meets the regulatory requirements of all countries where regulatory approvals will be obtained. He/she will work collaboratively with the BPS Regulatory Science and Development teams, responsible for safety study execution and agronomic/ecological evaluations, respectively, to ensure agreement on study design, details, quality expectations and delivery timelines. The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for ensuring the best quality regulatory data development, writing and managing high quality regulatory submissions for the U.S. as well as working closely with BASF Regulatory Affairs Managers in other countries to produce similar high quality regulatory submissions for production and/or import of BPS HT crop products in these countries. He/she will also serve as an expert resource on all regulatory aspects of the BPS HT crop products, and steward all regulatory submissions to final approvals, by early issue identification, responsiveness to questions and requests from Regulatory Authorities, submission management and resolution of regulatory challenges.

The NutriDenseŽ Program Manager will be a member of the NutriDense sales team within the BASF Plant Science organization. This team performs critical activities necessary to advance BPS's plant breeding and biotechnology projects from idea to marketplace as fast and effectively as possible. The sales team focuses on promoting value chain coordination and the nutritional value of our products in the marketplace. The NutriDense Program Manager responsibilities will cover the territory of Iowa and eastern Nebraska and will include:

1. Develop and oversee NutriDense Grain Networks consisting of grain growers, seed partners, logistics providers and animal feeders to generate pull through demand for hybrid corn seed containing the NutriDense Grain traits.
2. Provide support to key seed partners and retail sales personnel including education on the NutriDense Brand platform, positioning value enhanced grain programs, and aid in promotion through on-farm sales calls.
3. Prepare and execute key account business plans to ensure alignment of goals and objectives between BPS and the key stake holders within each NutriDense Network.
4. Work with BPS Nutrition / Tech Service to promote NutriDense Grain to end users / animal feeders ultimately leading to the consumption of grain derived NutriDense Grain hybrids.
5. Work with BPS Marketing to carry out marketing and business development plans and provide on the ground support for grain contract systems.

Qualifications

Required:

1. BA/BS in Agriculture or other relevant discipline.
2. 5 Years industry experience (livestock and/or feeding background with experience relative to grain), and including at least one of the following:
* Seed Industry Experience
* Working with top-tier growers
* Agricultural Sales Experience
* Contract Grain Experience

3. Track record of strong relationship management skills
4. Must be comfortable with risk
5. Must be entrepreneurial
6. Willing to travel
7. Must be a Team Player

BASF Agricultural Solutions, located in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina is headquarters for the BASF Crop Protection NAFTA Division, BASF Plant Science L.L.C, BASF Global Insecticide Research, and BASF Global Agricultural Research & Development.

BASF's Crop Protection business at BASF's facility in RTP, NC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Regulatory Submission Specialist to support the Global Regulatory Services group located in RTP. As a Regulatory Submission Specialist, the successful candidate will focus on the electronic assembly and publishing of regulatory NAFTA submissions and/or international dossiers in support of the registration of new crop protection products or re-registration of existing products in the market place. This includes, but is not limited to, the acquisition of e-documents from the document management system REGY, scanning of paper documents to e-documents, bookmarking and hyperlinking of PDF documents where required, assembly of submission/dossier outlines, and the final production of electronic and paper versions of the submission/dossier.

Reporting to the Manager, Global Regulatory Services - RTP, it is expected that the Regulatory Submission Specialist will assist global project teams, consisting of product registration managers, in the acquisition of technical reports and documents required for submission purposes. It is also expected that the candidate acquire and maintain proficiency in both BASF and non-BASF document assembly/publishing software systems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/Experience:

Minimum Required: Associates degree in a technical (such as life sciences) or business discipline with a minimum of one (1) year of experience with electronic document preparation.

Desired: BA or BS degree in a Life Sciences field with two (2) years of experience with electronic document preparation.

Other Requirements::

* Proficiency in Windows, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word is required. Experience in advanced Word (including templates), Excel, PowerPoint, document scanning, Documentum, and/or CoreDossier preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to learn new IT technologies required.
* Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills directed toward the completion of task-oriented procedures under tight deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work under limited supervision required.
