		<title>Process Controls &amp; Instrumentation Engineer Job (Beaumont, TX, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Process Controls & Instrumentation Engineer-0900878<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>The Instrument and Controls System Engineer works as a member of the TES organization to support daily operations, process improvements, and capital projects at the Beaumont, TX location.  Position reports directly to TES Manager.<br/><br/>Responsibilities Include:<br/><br/>?      Administer and maintain all site control systems (Honeywell TDC 3000, PLC), safety instrumented systems (SIS), and associated applications and peripherals (networks, infrastructure, Aspen IP.21, etc).<br/><br/>?      Serve as primary contact for all instrumentation and control system modifications and ensure adherence to BASF engineering standards, especially during capital project work.<br/><br/>?      Serve as site's designated Safety Instrumented System (SIS) expert and perform all associated responsibilities.<br/><br/>?      Configure and modify unit interlocks as necessary and have an applied understanding of their purposes.<br/><br/>?      Administer loop sheets and keep updated as changes are made.<br/><br/>?      Design and maintain HMI graphics meeting ASM guidelines for high-performance HMI.<br/><br/>?      Administer and perform configuration changes.<br/><br/>?      Design and improve control configuration.<br/><br/>?      Participate in loop tuning.<br/><br/>?      Participate in APC and process optimization groups to implement and maintain advanced process control applications.<br/><br/>?      Utilize statistical process control tools to drive continuous improvement.<br/><br/>?      Lead alarm management team and routinely analyze alarms for improvement opportunities.<br/><br/>?      Lead wireless program and drive implementation throughout the site.<br/><br/>?      Administer all EH&S-related instrumentation and data collection systems.<br/><br/>?      Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.<br/>?      Work closely with I/E Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, Operators, Coordinators, and Operations Engineers.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>Requires a BS Degree in Engineering - Electrical, Controls Systems, or Chemical preferred.<br/><br/>?      Requires a minimum of 5 years work experience with controls systems (Honeywell TDC 3000 preferred) and computer hardware, software, and networking.<br/><br/>?      Must possess a strong technical knowledge of controls engineering and controls systems.<br/><br/>?      Must possess a strong knowledge of control schematic design and control configuration.<br/><br/>?      Must possess a strong knowledge of advanced process control (APC) techniques.<br/><br/>?      Must possess a strong knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS)<br/><br/>?      Ability to read, mark-up, and update I/E documents (schematics, loop drawings, one-line drawings, P&ID's , etc.) per BASF standards.<br/><br/>?      Knowledge of HMI graphic design utilizing High Performance Graphics as presented by the ASM Consortium<br/><br/>?      Knowledge of alarm management concepts, loop tuning, and Intools.<br/><br/>?      Knowledge of CADD drawing programs is a plus.<br/><br/>?      Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose control system and instrumentation failures and utilize root cause analysis for corrective actions.<br/><br/>? 		<title>Operations Engineer Job (Beaumont, TX, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Operations Engineer-0900799<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>Under the direction of the Production Manager the Operations Engineer is responsible for providing technical process assistance for operating units.  Involved in all phases of operations including:  raw material consumption, product yield accounting and process performance.  Position is located at the Beaumont, TX location and is a part of the Crop Protection business.<br/><br/>*   Provide technical support and direction to the Production Supervisors and Shifts in the resolution of plant problems.<br/>*   Ensure plant changes or modifications are captured and documented as a part of the PSM " Management of Change" .<br/>*   Responsible for supporting PHA/PSSR reviews and  revalidation to meet PSM requirements.<br/>*   Prepares economic evaluations on changes in operations.<br/>*   Performs process design work, calculates heat and material balances, line sizes, heat exchangers, tower designs, etc.<br/>*   Plan and conduct test work and evaluate results to improve operations and product quality.<br/>*   Prepare progress reports on operating units, technical problems and special projects.<br/>*  Assists in the preparation of the annual expense and capital budgets for the assigned areas.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>*      BS Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering.<br/><br/>BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.<br/><br/>*   Minimum of five (5) years operations experience in a chemical manufacturing site. Prefer industrial experience. (preferably a combination of production experience,  process support and project implementation).<br/>*  Demonstrates experience and skills for problem solving, change-management, root cause analysis and troubleshooting.<br/>*  DCS background using Honeywell TDC-3000 desired.<br/>*  Sound technical knowledge, analytical abilities, and computer skills.<br/>*  Strong project management skills.<br/>*  Demonstrates teamwork and leadership skills.<br/>* Strong leadership skills and high level of initiative are required to lead the various teams to success.<br/>* Ability to learn and understand process controls (DCS & field controllers) and how they can be applied to improve plant performance.<br/><br/>This position is part of a job family with multiple levels.
