		<title>Civil/Structural Design Engineer Job (Freeport, TX, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Civil/Structural Design Engineer-0900709<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>Structural Engineering<br/><br/>* Design of new steel and concrete structures including process structures, piperacks, and buildings.<br/>* Design of foundations for structures, buildings, piperacks, reactors, towers, compressors, exchangers, pumps, tanks, and other equipment.<br/>* Analysis of existing structures and foundations for repair, renovation, or additions.<br/><br/>Civil Engineering<br/><br/>* Design of site development, roads, drainage, railroads, and barge and ship docks, truck docks and loading stations.<br/>* Analysis of existing infrastructure for repairs, renovation or additions.<br/><br/>Capital Project Support<br/><br/>* Provide engineering technical support during all phases of project execution.<br/>* Prepare of scope of work documents, key quantities for cost estimates, bid packages, and detailed engineering drawings.<br/>* Prepare information and expertise for development of project cost and schedule.<br/>* Lead civil and structural design efforts on small and large capital projects. Provide technical direction for 1-10 engineers/designers (in-house and/or third party engineering firm) during the engineering phase of the projects<br/><br/>Support Services<br/><br/>* Review of work of outside engineering firms for quality, code compliance, and BASF Technical Standards compliance.<br/>* Perform bid evaluations, construction assistance, maintenance assistance, and consulting on civil structural issues.<br/>* Provide expertise to interpret codes and maintain best practices (ASCE, IBC, utilize STAAD).<br/>* Evaluate suppliers including engineering firms, contractors, and fabricators<br/>* Provide technical assistance in solving day to day problems at Freeport and BASF linked sites.<br/>* Review, validate/challenge, and provide constructive feedback on new and revised BASF Technical Standards and Site Practices relating to civil engineering.<br/>* Review BASF Safety and Loss Prevention standards, Ecology Standards, and governmental codes and regulations for changes affecting projects, detail design, and retrofits.<br/>* Act as civil liaison for Corporate Engineering to Ludwigshafen and other BASF sites.  This includes participation on Corporate Ad-hoc committees.<br/>* Supports Site Administrative efforts, including the preparation and retention of documentation.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>REQUIRED<br/><br/>B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering with experience to provide intimate knowledge of the theory and practice of Civil and Structural Engineering as used in a chemical plant and/or industrial operation.  Must understand conceptual design engineering, fabrication, construction, cost engineering, and project management.<br/><br/>Good motivational, planning/scheduling, and communication skills are required.  Must be able to maintain a positive attitude under all work conditions and perform in a team atmosphere.<br/><br/>Additional requirements<br/><br/>1. 7+ years in civil/structural design engineering and related fields.<br/>2. Working knowledge with STAADPro structural design software.<br/>3. Knowledgeable in Civil and Structural Codes (, AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE, and other applicable codes)<br/>4. Self-starter, good communication skills, organization, leadership skills.<br/>5. Strong computer skills.<br/><br/>DESIRED<br/><br/>1. 2+ years in the Petrochemical or related industry.<br/>2. Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.<br/>3. Experienced in Microstation<br/>4. An understanding of Geotechnical Engineering<br/>5. Experience in railroad design.<br/>6. 		<title>Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Sr. Job (Freeport, TX, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Sr.-1000057<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>Supports the Freeport Polycaprolactam & Intermediates Complex (P&IC) by developing and tracking the maintenance budgets and spending, tracking and analyzing equipment performance, participating in the root cause analysis of failures, developing and implementing corrective actions, identifying and pursuing reliability improvement opportunities, supporting planning / development / execution of plant outages,  developing and executing maintenance projects, overseeing and supporting improvement of plant maintenance work processes, assuring PSM/MIP compliance, and optimizing PM/PdM programs.  Provides input to the project engineers executing projects in the plants to ensure minimum life-cycle costs. Responsibilities may include developing the mechanical engineering design and specifications for new installations or debottlenecking of existing plants. Works with site, Corporate and business group teams to ensure the flow of information regarding mechanical engineering technology across the Freeport site, as well as to and from the Freeport site.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>Required:<br/><br/>B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
