Description

The Instrument/ Electrical Maintenance Engineer will provide I/E maintenance support for critical infrastructure and utilities at the Freeport site. The engineer is responsible for assuring long-term I/E reliability resulting in cost effective and safe operations.

The position is responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering expertise.

The I/E Maintenance engineer will ensure proper design, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards.

The engineer has primary responsibility for eliminating chronic reliability problems.

The I/E Maintenance Engineer will be expected to take a primary role in the planning and execution of turnarounds.

The engineer may be required to work as project manager for capital and expense reliability projects.

The I/E Maintenance Engineer will review all projects for compatibility with the plant's long-term maintenance strategy utilizing best available technology with consideration for minimized equipment life cycle costs.

The I/E Maintenance engineer works under the direction of the Technical Engineering Services Manager.

Qualifications

* Strong knowledge of process control

Description

This position is responsible for providing Piping Design leadership to support project scope development, estimation, detailed design, drafting, review, and project execution for in-plant projects.

Additionally, this position will function as a Piping Lead to coordinate capital and expense projects at outside Engineering Contractor offices. In this capacity, the function ensures that quality, cost compliance, schedule, and constructability commitments of the contractors.

Design Responsibilities:
1. Lead 4-6 designers. Insure quality design, cost compliance, and schedule activities are met by design group.

2. Estimate projects, track progress, and board/field check deliverables

3. Effective coordination of piping documents and design issues with project managers and other design disciplines.
4. Develop Project-specific piping specifications.

Strategic Responsibilities:
1. Review, validate, and provide feedback on new and revised corporate policies and procedures related to Mechanical and Piping disciplines.
2. Review and promote new technology regarding vendor supplied items, including valves, gaskets, and fabrication / construction methods.
3. Review/create policies/procedures relating to piping design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required:

* 7+ years in piping design and related fields.
* 3+ years of pipe design leadership (leading pipe designers, estimating projects, tracking progress, board/field checking).
* Experience in the use of CAD Software (Microstation is preferred).
* 3 years or greater experience in 3D design.
* Familiar in Piping Codes (ASME, API, and other applicable codes).
* Experienced and detailed knowledge of pipe design, fabrication, and installation of small to medium capital projects.
* Experience in executing multiple project modifications, debottlenecking, maintenance activities, and retrofits involving multi-discipline interfaces.

Structural Engineering

REQUIRED
