		<title>Product Marketing Manager - Fiberbonding Job (Charlotte, NC, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Product Marketing Manager - Fiberbonding-1000058<br/><br/>BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.<br/><br/>Description<br/><br/>The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the marketing and product management of Fiberbonding materials.  Major position responsibility is the creation and implementation of a strategic business plan by market segment, which will achieve SBU objectives.  The Product Marketing Manager interfaces with all key functional areas, including Sales, Technical Service, R&D, Manufacturing, Cross Functional Industry Teams, and Marketing Communications. Critical external interfaces include Industry/ Market associations Trade organizations.<br/><br/>Responsibilities<br/><br/>* Together with the Business Manager, identifies, develops, implements and communicates the strategies, plans and programs needed to profitably achieve the business goals of the Dispersions for Fiber Bonding business unit.  Participates in operational and strategic planning processes.<br/>* Develops a market segment pricing/promotion strategy and manages volume/product pricing of market segments/customers to achieve profitability targets.  Including the management of margin through both pricing and cost control measures.<br/>* Understands technology, trends, and competitors in the Fiberbonding/Nonwovens industry through customer relationships, market research, membership in external Industry Groups, and BASF cross-divisional industry teams.  Develops appropriate product portfolio strategies which support the business strategy.  Initiates and leads activities to implement product portfolio strategies.<br/>* Monitors segment results and performance on a monthly basis.  Analyzes deviations from operating plan and takes corrective actions as appropriate.<br/>* Develops and implements a marketing communications strategy that supports the business strategy.  Activities include trade shows, industry presentations, press releases, trade journal articles and advertisements. The individual ensures a significant presence in the marketplace by representing BASF in national and regional industry associations and seminars.<br/>* Develops and maintains relationships with technical and business counter-parts in Europe, Asia and South America to foster glabal communication and allow greater participation in the development of global business strategies and assessment of new development projects and business cases.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business Management or related field is required.  Advanced degree in business preferred.<br/>* At least 10 years experience in marketing, product management or technical service of Nonwoven binders is required.<br/>* Knowledge of multiple nonwoven technologies (e.g. Durable, Consumer, Roofing construction and practical applications) preferred.<br/>* Individual must possess marketing acumen, problem solving capability, initiative and creativity.  Individual must be able to effectively influence others and work in multi-functional & diverse teams.<br/>* Individual must have excellent planning, organizing, and work management skills in order to effectively prioritize activities. He/She will also develop and implement new innovations and improvements to the same - particularly those of interest to the EDC business and customer base and participate in business, manufacturing or other cross-functional teams to plan and monitor the overall project portfolio. Maintains professional contacts.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>Required:<br/><br/>* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Master's Degree preferred,  with 10 years minimum practical laboratory experience, to include 5 years of construction chemistry and formulation required.<br/>* Advanced knowledge of construction related formulations, applications, and technologies, with a working knowledge of polymer/ emulsion technology (synthesis, manufacture, applications, etc.).
