		<title>Chemist III Job (Charlotte, NC, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Chemist III<br/><br/>The ideal candidate will be a Chemist III for the Construction Business of the Dispersions and Pigments Group.   <br/><br/>R  esponsibilities include:    <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Identify and conceive of ways to improve current products and processes by analyzing their performance, practically or theoretically, using available scientific and patent information. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Formulate and execute self-conceived or assigned technical or research projects, usually complex in nature, to demonstrate the technical advantages of new or innovative products or processes either individually or as a member of a team. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Devises tests, procedures and experiments, statistically designed if appropriate, in order to execute or assist in execution of technical and research projects. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Writes comprehensive reports and evaluations on data obtained from experimentation and, if necessary, orally present observations, conclusions and recommendations to persons concerned; prepares invention records on sole or joint inventions in areas of the company's interests, Prepare original papers for presentation or publication if within security and policy restrictions. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Direct and provide required training for the work of one or more technicians. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Cooperate with technical services/manufacturing in furnishing technical assistance to demonstrate the usefulness of Company products, and/or to solve field or other problems that might affect Company relations with customers or prospective customers. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Becomes expert in one or more areas of technology relevant to the business. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Plans and carries out the original part of exploratory self-conceived projects after which, if they receive proper approval, become part of the planned program. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Contributes and adheres to Safety, Environmental standards of the Corporation, Division and location. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Stays current with developments and innovations in the areas of polymer science/technology.  Develops and maintains expert knowledge in the scientific field related to the program in hand, by reading journals, patents and internal reports, by attending conferences, courses and seminars. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Performs special projects as requested and/or assigned. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Stays abreast of advances in construction related formulations, applications, and technologies Contributes    by periodically developing and implementing new innovations and improvements to the same - particularly those of interest to the EDC business and customer base."    <br/><br/>The successful candidate:   <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Plans and develops assigned work programs with minimal supervision. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Participates in business, manufacturing or other cross-functional teams to plan and monitor  the overall project portfolio. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Functions in a highly diverse and ever-changing technological and business environment. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32; Solves problems in conjunction with Technical Service or Manufacturing. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 5 years minimum practical laboratory experience, to include 3 years of construction chemistry and formulation required. 		<title>Process Development Engineer Job (Charlotte, NC, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Process Development Engineer<br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Conceptualize, plan and implement process development projects relevant to adhesives & construction polymers manufacturing processes. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Provide technical expertise in emulsion polymerization (XSB, Acrylics and HSL) and chemical plant processes in support of NAFTA manufacturing units, R&D scientists, and business units. Apply computer modeling skills in simulation of emulsion polymerization processes for both problem solving and process optimization. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Supervise development laboratory operations <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Interpret chemical analytical data and applications data. Analyze interaction between formulation variables, process conditions, and final product properties. <br/><br/>Required:<br/><br/>&#149;&#32;BS degree in Chemical Engineering or directly related field with a minimum of 10 years experience.  Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or directly related field with experience is strongly preferred.<br/><br/>&#149;&#32;5  years experience in process engineering, polymerization operations, or polymer research. <br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Ability to manage technical projects consistent with business strategy.<br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Skilled in calculus, discrete mathematics, and numerical methods.<br/><br/>&#149;&#32;Good written and oral communication skills.
