Provides instrument and electrical engineering expertise in multiple chemical productions units, leads and supervises the instrument technician team as assigned.

Purpose of the Job: To work in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor to manage or coordinate maintenance and site service related programs to include but not limited to:

Principal Responsibilities:::

• Maintain and improve plant reliability through identifying/correcting bad actors, conducting root cause failure analysis, and implementing the site's Maintenance related programs through oversight, SOP implementation and training in order to earn a premium on the cost of capital and comply with BASF Engineering and Maintenance guidelines and requirements.

• Manage the site's facilities and maintenance related projects in a safe, environmentally correct, efficient and cost effective manner while maximizing support to operations, ensuring sustainable development and earning a premium on the cost of capital. Ensures proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements.

• Participate in BASF's One Technical Community (OTC) in a manner that helps our customers (internal) to be successful and to earn a premium on the cost of capital.

• Oversee the use of contracted services at the facility ensuring contractors under their supervision conform to BASF requirements.

• Provides input to preparing the maintenance budget, the site's maintenance plan, and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and monitoring of key performance indicators.

• Support / lead / manage targeted projects from the Manager, Maintenance and Site Services.

• Coordinate with and support engineering and maintenance department personnel to facilitate maintenance functions at the site.

Nature and Scope

• Work environment : Report directly to the Manager, Maintenance and Site Services for the all project and program work. Coordinates closely with the members of the engineering, maintenance and site services groups.

• Business environment : Complete projects and manage programs under their control such that the business, R&D, quality and production units can function at their peak capabilities.

• Internal end external relationships : Internally collaborate with site service, maintenance, OTC and RBU personnel on a daily basis.

Externally interact with contractor personnel on a weekly to daily basis.

Knowledge and Experience

Required:

• 18 months to 4 years relevant engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment that demonstrates an understanding of best industry practices regarding maintenance work processes.

• B.S. degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical or chemical)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong technical and maintenance skills to help troubleshoot problems in the different manufacturing and site services areas

• Strong planning, managerial and financial analysis skills
