		<title>Product Marketing Manager - Performance Flooring Job (Beachwood, OH, US)</title>

Ensures products/services are marketed and communicated in accordance with budgeted objectives to obtain maximum profitability and volume.  He/ She executes actions of product life cycle management (including material set-up, inventory planning and revision, obsolescence management and product rationalization) in a timely and accurate manner; manages product value analysis projects; maintains product hierarchy on a daily basis to ensure the timely processing of customer orders; and ensures accuracies of product literature. Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.  Recommends changes in marketing philosophy and policy when changes serve the best interest of the organization.  Provides marketing advice and guidance to various operating units to ensure that overall marketing effectiveness surpasses competitors.   He/She is responsible for involvement in new product development teams, product profitability improvement teams and reducing inventory scrap .  He/She is also responsible for plans and development of marketing literature, samples and new product launches.  He/She is responsible for direct mailing campaigns, trade shows and will interact with key customers in daily busine<br/><b>Principal Responsibilities&#58;</b> - Four to eight brief statements indicating what is done (Action), how it is done (Method or Means) and why (End Result). (Use additional sheet of paper if necessary.)<br/><br/>* Assists in developing and implementing product segment roadmaps<br/>* Recommends and implements measures to ensure health of product line<br/>* In cooperation with Supply Chain Management, determines MTO/MTS classification and min/max levels of products in shipping locations and ensures they are being followed<br/>* Collects forecasts and plant alerts from sales force and works with Supply Chain Management to ensure material is available when necessary.<br/>* Tracks product complaints and makes recommendations and works on teams to make corrections if necessary in conjunction with Business Quality Group.<br/>* Monitors sales activities and adjusts MTO/MTS status and min/max levels accordingly for all stocking locations.<br/>* Monitors performance of products against published values, determines discrepancies and initiates corrective action in production, engineering, R&D, technical literature and marketing materials.<br/>* Sets up new materials in CAT/SAP with Materials Management Group.<br/>* Maintains product hierarchy for tracking purposes in CAT/SAP.<br/>* Interacts with Customer Service Pricing Team to ensure seamless flow of orders through the system.<br/>* Implements measures for life cycle management program including but not limited to product rationalization.<br/>* Manages product improvement and cost reduction projects.<br/>* Assists in creation and maintenance of technical and marketing literature.<br/>* Designs and ensures packaging is meeting required standards.<br/>* Manages the fire sale process for Performance Flooring product offering maintaining scrap levels to a minimum.<br/>* Recommends, manages and tracks lead generation programs .<br/>* Develops and executes in collaboration with Sales Force - Marketing Plans, Programs, development of new products/services both short and long range ensuring company objectives and goals are achieved and linked with BASF corporate strategic goals.<br/>* Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to preset standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.<br/>* Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range to ensure the profit growth and expansion of organization's products/services.<br/>* Develops and recommends product positioning packaging and pricing strategy to produce the greatest profit and highest possible long-term share.<br/>* Ensures that market intelligence is received and analyzed so that market opportunities may be capitalized on as they occur and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.<br/>* Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy and product/service packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy.<br/>* Develops and manage 5 year innovation plan for business.<br/>* Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influences and strategic partners.<br/>* Strong technical knowledge of product offering in order to determine and promote points of differentiation that provide materials a strong value proposition.<br/>* Performs other related duties as assigned by management.<br/>* Assists in management of Master Contractor program and the different meetings and benefits this program provides.  Maintains contact with master contractors often.<br/>* Assists in building and implementing training programs for customers and employees related to Performance Flooring .<br/>* Wear necessary safety equipment and follow company established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.<br/>* Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies.<br/>* Works in conjunction with Communications Department for literature, trade show, industry publications, advertising requirements.<br/>*  Responsible for creating and achieving both short term and long term objectives for the company.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>* Experience in Marketing within a Business to Business sales channel where product was sold directly to contractors or facilities required.<br/>* Not interested in consumer/retail oriented marketing backgrounds or heavy experience in selling product marketing/sales through distributor based channels.<br/>* Knowledge of Commercial Construction Market, frequent direct customer interaction preferred.<br/>* Bachelors degree required,  Marketing (preferred).<br/>* A minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, sales, technical service, product management in a business to business market required.<br/>* Ultimate communicator and motivator to their internal and external customers.<br/>* Proficiency with: PC Skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.<br/>* Proficiency with Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Business Enterprise (preferred: SAP or CAT), time management, project management, and process management are preferred.<br/><br/>BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.<br/><br/>This position is within a job family and will be filled at a level applicable to qualifications.<br/><br/>Primary Location<br/>: United States-Ohio-Beachwood<br/><br/>Other Locations<br/>: United States-Minnesota-Shakopee<br/><br/>Job Type<br/>: Standard<br/><br/>Shift<br/>: Day Job<br/><br/>Organization<br/>: N-EBN-Construction Chemicals North America]]></description>
