Technician II This group provides application and development support for the Metal Surface Treatment in the NAFTA region Tasks include: 1. Laboratory Testing: Preparation of metal coupon samples with pretreatment and post treatment polymers. 2. Application testing: General application testing using ASTM and in-house test methods, such as, corrosion testing and humidity testing. 3. Formulation of polymeric blends for laboratory and customer coating applications. 4. Physical property evaluations of formulated polymers such as pH, solid content, acid number, water analyses, viscosity, etc. 5. Evaluation of panels and documentation of results including visual ratings, photographing, etc. The position requires the successful candidate to be flexible and eventually to expand into areas of polymer blending with various components and designing of experiments with JMP® software. Other tasks include, a Krüss Dynamic and Static Surface Tensiometers . Associate or four-year college degree with strong background in chemistry, physics, engineering or related technical areas. or 10 years of experience as a lab technician in a chemical industry or in the use of formulations and performance of industrial products for cleaning applications. Strong basic algebra and computer skills desirable. Must have good communication skills Must be able to work well in a team environment.
