Research Associate Sr I (Mass Spectrometry)
The position is in a small Mass Spectrometry team, and reports into the Group Leader, Analytics. Work includes both structure elucidation and quantitation using Mass Spectrometry. Efforts are focussed primarily in the identification of new Insecticide candidates from the Research pipeline, as well as the advancement of various other Agrochemical Development and Life Cycle Management compounds through support of Residue and Efate studies.
Ph. D. degree
* in Analytical/Organic Chemistry or related field with at least 5 years relevant experience in structure elucidation using Mass Spectrometry. Demonstrated record of achievement in structure elucidation and problem solving through the use of complex MS and HPLC equipment is required. This position also requires strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
In addition to the required MS expertise, broad knowledge in NMR, IR and UV/VIS as well as an understanding of GLP regulations/guidelines is desirable. Good understanding of reaction mechanisms in Organic Chemistry and metabolic pathways are a plus. Also desirable is a working knowledge of pesticide registration requirements. Strong skills in spectroscopic instrumention and computer software/hardware skills would be particularly beneficial.
