Agricultural Products Communications Mgr
The Communications Manager provides leadership and strategy for advertising, public relations and other marketing programs of the BASF Crop Protection Division, RTP. The manager is a team player and works well with fellow communications managers and business marketing managers. He or she will contribute to development of strategic marketing plans and will supervise daily work of advertising and PR agency consultants in execution of those plans according to budgets. The manager supervises a variety of communications tools/tactics, as provided by external consultants/vendors, including news releases, Internet sites, trade shows and other promotional events, direct marketing, and print and broadcast advertising. The manager demonstrates value to the AP businesses by creating and managing strategic, creative and efficient marketing-communications programs. Additionally, the manager will contribute to communications programs that support BASF AP goals as assigned by the Group Communications Manager.
Minimum BA or BS degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years experience in corporate communications, advertising or public relations. A combination of experience from corporate and agency environments is a plus.
Work-related experience in writing for news releases, op-ed articles, speeches.
Experience in managing the development and execution of advertising (print and broadcast), direct mail, digital (Internet) marketing, brochures and other marketing tools.
Work-related experience in Internet site strategic marketing management, including B-to-B and B-to-C strategies that include interactive or social networking content. Demonstrated experience in one or more of these fields is a plus: commercial agriculture, crop protection, food sciences, environmental protection/services or similar field.
Candidate must excell at managing multiple projects, keeping internal clients informed, tracking multiple budgets and demonstrating value of his/her programs.
Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-performance work environment is essential for success.
