Operator I
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Follow all safety regulations.
Follow all applicable area specific and plant procedures.
Remove ceramic substrate from automotive catalytic converters using a hydraulic shear.
Perform preventative / operator level maintenance and prior to use inspections on the decanning shear.
Complete decanning paperwork and maintain an accurate count of catalytic converters decanned.
Perform blade changes and basic machine setups on the hydraulic shear.
Operate forklift.
Supplement and support production / material handling personnel as required to cover absences / vacation.
Identify maintenance issues and coordinate with the Mill Operator and/or the Production Supervisor to institute corrective action.
Ensure all customer lots are properly labeled and separated.
Load and unload trucks as required.
Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area.
Assist in the training of new hires.
Minimum requirements are:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial / production environment preferred.
Ability to work well with others.
Forklift experience preferred.
Ability to follow all safety standards associated with the facility and the decanning area.
Good dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Familiarity with common hand tools.
Knowledge of proper material handling procedures preferred.
Machine operator experience a plus.
Hydraulic shear / press experience preferred.
Proficient computer skills.
Individual must be willing to work flexible shifts.
