Instrument&Electrical Maintenance Engineer

The principle challenge of this position is to recommend and manage capital projects for the Vidalia and Port Allen locations, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. In this role, the incumbent must properly manage engineering and construction personnel and resources. The incumbent also provides E&I support for both locations.

Manage the site capital projects to budget and schedule

• Configuration and maintenance of distributed control systems

• Originate funding requests for projects requested by plant management

• Manage outside engineering and construction resources in support of plant capital projects needs

• Provide consultation/recommendations for upgrading facilities and improving the reliability and performance of existing and new facilities

• Function as the plant Lead for Contracted Services. Monitor and assess to ensure compliance to the Contracted Services EHS Process

• Facilitate maintenance work process practices such as MPI, RCFA, and TPM

• Facilitate RCI process for plant needs identifications and problem solutions

• Participate in Project Environmental, Health and Safety Reviews for new projects

• Prepare annual estimates for outside engineering requirements

• Initiate requisitions for engineering services to support plant project needs

• Monitor performance, approve invoicing and manage the budget

• Assign jobs with priority based on plant operational requirements

• Prepare periodic reports on all plant project and construction activities

• Monitor contractor job safety, work quality and housekeeping

• Provide E&I Support for both locations (Port Allen and Vidalia, LA)

• BS Electrical Engineering. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

• minimum of three years experience in an E&I support role. The candidate must have experience in instrumentation and controls systems upgrade/repair, electrical system upgrade/repair, and capital project management. The candidate must also have strong computer skills and user knowledge of maintenance management systems( preferably SAP). Candidate must have experience with configuration and maintenance of distributed control systems, The candidate should also possess the following:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to use creativity and innovation to solve problems,

- Strong computer skills and overall knowledge of plant operating systems

- The ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize .
