Maintenance Technician II Job

Maintenance Technician II
Independently complete maintenance repairs requiring troubleshooting and analysis for moderate to difficult chemical manufacturing area related tasks
Complete fabrication and installation of modifications and projects using drawings, sketches, P&ID's, etc.
Operate shop equipment including hand, hand operated power, and common machine tools in accordance with all OSHA and BASF requirements
Interface with operations, engineering, management, and vendors on equipment, systems, and associated problems
Perform all specified job duties while complying with site safety procedures and requirements
Keep an orderly and organized work area
Train subordinate technicians as required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3-6 years of manufacturing environment maintenance experience
Ability to work in a fast paced, multitask environment. Must be able to coordinate multiple job assignments as required
Knowledge of and ability to use common hand and hand operated power tools
Proficiency with maintenance shop related machine tools
Ability to read drawings, sketches, and P&ID's to layout and fabricate simple to moderately advanced projects using common structural elements including sheet metal, bar stock, angle iron, channel, pipe, etc.
Proficient in the use of oxy-acetylene equipment and SMAW and GTAW techniques
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and schematics
Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability and desire to work with others at all levels in the organization
Ability to work overtime and shift work as needed, often on short notice
Possess a valid Class C or equivalent drivers license
Capable of meeting qualifications to operate mobile equipment including forklifts
Meet the physical requirements as described on the Essential Job Function Form
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing maintenance position
Proficiency with common chemical manufacturing maintenance shop related machine tools
Trade or technical school training in a maintenance related field preferred
Ability to perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs using common diagnostic tools (e.g. multimeter, etc.)
Knowledge of common SAP roles including Purchase Requisitions and Work Notifications
