Customer Service Rep

Receives, processes and follows up on customer orders and inquiries using Customer Interaction Center (CIC) within SAP environment. Checks order parameters such as availability, specifications, pricing, transportation, etc, and directly initiates the necessary actions required to resolve any obstacles between the customer's requirements and BASF's ability to satisfy them.

Manages work queues on a daily basis to ensure orders are fulfilled as required.

Receives, processes and follows up on customer complaints or non-conformances in order to improve the quality of the relationship between the customer and BASF. This is done in the SAP Non-conformance Management System.

Serves as primary owner of a customer order and is the liaison for customers with internal BASF functions such as Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Credit, Manufacturing, etc. and external service providers such as warehouses, terminals, carriers, etc.

May include responsibility for eCommerce, VMI, Exports, managing consignment or Accounts Receivable work queue or specific market segmentation.

Supports decisions or programs developed by Marketing with regard to products under sales allocation or control.

Ensures data integrity is maintained throughout order fulfillment process.

Responsible for management of the Accounts Receivable work queue addressing customer unauthorized deductions.

May need to cover customer service issues during non-working hours or on holidays based upon specific business needs.

Amount of travel involved: less than 5%

Required:

1. Excellent organizational communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills

2. Excellent internal and external customer focus

3. Computer proficiency ((Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel) and ability to handle multiple PC applications

4. Experience with SAP

5. Prior Customer Service experience

6. Ability to set priorities and make decisions in a dynamic work environment

7. Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up skills

8. Action oriented, with good problem solving, analytical and math skills

9. BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in a customer service function. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry

Advanced knowledge of SD functions of SAP

Export experience
