Agro Development Program- Ph.D. Biological and Agricultural Sciences
The Agro Development Program (ADP) recruits highly motivated, mobile-minded, recent college graduates to join BASF Corporation and prepare for a career in the Agricultural Solutions segment of BASF. Participants are provided focused opportunities to develop their professional skills and integrate them into the BASF culture. Through a series of real-world rotational assignments at different sites in the United States or abroad, participants will explore career options and develop technical and professional decision-making skills, while fulfilling specific business needs. Participants will also have the opportunity to assess their capabilities, skills and interests and gain valuable exposure to BASF's culture and values. Participation in the Agro Development Program requires participants to network with international teams in an interdisciplinary environment and focus their expertise on significant challenging opportunities in a fast-paced global environment.
Program Summary
Rotational assignments provide exposure to different scientific disciplines, various technologies and career opportunities throughout BASF
Assignments can be located at several of BASF's R&D sites located across North America. Locations may be (not limited to) in North Carolina, California, Iowa or Illinois. There's also the possibility for a rotation in Germany.
What can the ADP - Biological and Agricultural Sciences program do for you?
Develop technical expertise, network at various levels throughout BASF and explore possible career tracks within the company.
Enhance career development and deliver value to BASF and its customers through the planned assignments.
Placement at the conclusion of the program may lead to opportunities in a variety of disciplines within Agricultural Solutions R&D including Agronomy, Biology, Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, Environmental and Consumer Safety, Registration, or an associated technical support function. Such positions are located either in the USA or at one of BASF's agricultural research locations in Germany, Spain, Brazil, Philippines and Taiwan.
Ph.D. degree in the field of Biological or Agricultural Sciences is preferred
Ph.D.s from other related sciences, e.g. Soil Science, Food Science, Biotechnology, may be also considered
Willingness to relocate
Flexible/adaptable
Strong communication and presentation skills
Authorization to work in the US without restrictions
Desired Characteristics
International perspective or experience preferred
Second language desirable
Team orientation
Self-starter or demonstrated decision making ability
Leadership skills
