The Agricultural Research Station in Dinuba, CA has an opening for a Weed Scientist. The Research Station Weed Scientist will be responsible for designing and conducting the research programs for the evaluation of new experimental and development herbicides under California conditions. This includes the testing of the candidate compounds under greenhouse and field conditions for selectivity and weed control in a wide variety of agricultural and horticultural crops and in non crop situations. The Weed Scientist will make the applications and will evaluate the trials, summarize and interprete the results in reports and presentations and make suggestions for further development. He/she will work in a team and will be supported by the field crew.

-PhD in weed science or in related area. Alternatively, an MS degree in agriculture or horticulture, with emphasis on weed science or weed control with at least 2 years practical experience would also be acceptable.

-Good practical knowledge and experience in major agricultural and horticultural crops.

-Practical experience and knowledge of trial techniques for field and greenhouse trials.

-Good computer skills with basic knowledge in biometrical and statistical methods for trial design and trial evaluation.
