Pigment Coordinator (Brighton, CO) Job Summary: Prepare pigment mixes to support standard and custom pigment operation, and other finished product processes in the plant. Package pigments to meet established delivery guidelines for customers and distribution centers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Prepares pigment mixes to support standard and custom pigment operations. Make color adjustments as required to meet QC specifications. Batch size will vary from sample strips to drums. Process rework into finished product. Document use of raw materials on process orders to maintain accurate inventories. · Package pigment into containers to meet established guidelines and deadlines. Prepare and apply labels, fill containers to proper fill weight, seal can and pack into cartons. Document use of raw materials on process orders to maintain accurate inventories. · Prepare pigment mixes to support NP2, SL2, NP1, Sonolastic 150 and CX-26 finishing process. Document use of raw materials on process orders to maintain accurate inventories. · Provides vacation and sick coverage for pigment coordinator. Prepare formulations for color match requests using CS5 instrument, scales, spectrometer and calculators. Conducts sample matching for customers using existing color pallet. Retrieves pigments from shelved inventory to fill customer orders. · Supports packaging of standard pigments, HLM, Topcoat Tintbase, NP2, SL2 and adhesion promoter as required to meet production goals and customer delivery guidelines. · Perform housekeeping duties to ensure proper presentation of facility and grounds at all times. Perform regulatory audits and required duties to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies and procedures. Perform production waste handler duties in accordance with Hazardous Waste Policy. · Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by supervision. · Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies. · Wears prescribed Personal Protective equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used. · Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained. · Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk. · Understands that Safety and Environmental responsibility is a major part of Degussa's Vision and Guiding Principles. Must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to appropriate managers or directors. Responsible for the safety of themselves and others. · Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities. EDUCATION 2 year associates degree preferred or trade school equivalent, High school diploma or GED is acceptable EXPERIENCE 1 - 3 years of relevant industrial work experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Works well with others and alone, can follow procedures and written directions, can work with minimal supervision, ability to perform basic math with or without a calculator, ability to work different
Shift:s, familiarity with mixing and color matching equipment preferred, can set-up and perform minor repairs to frequently used equipment ACCOUNTABILITIES: Meet daily manufacturing output goals and objectives, prepare products which meet product quality specifications, work in accordance with company policies and procedures including regulatory and human resource related subject matter.
